maut1.de launches toll box for trucks over 3.5 tonnes

Rosenheim, September 30th 2022. maut1.de is one of the leading providers of toll boxes in German-speaking countries, which has so far mainly served private customers in the passenger car sector. Due to the high demand from haulage companies and businesses, the start-up from Rosenheim has now decided to launch a toll box specifically for trucks over 3 m high and weighing more than 3.5 tonnes. This currently works in Austria, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal. The box does not have to be connected to the power supply or activated. It is sufficient to attach it to the windscreen. With the device, commercial users can pay the charges without stopping, saving valuable time, especially in the haulage industry. The box can be ordered online and costs 19.90 euros once for activation (plus 3.90 euros shipping). The annual fee of 74.90 euros is due with the first invoice. And then the distances actually recorded are charged in each case, including a surcharge of 5 per cent. "We are starting to offer toll solutions in the truck sector and want to expand our product range to include additional countries soon," announces maut1.de managing director Julian Schmelzer.

Simple axle change

Anyone who wants to tow a semi-trailer or trailer and is worried about whether the toll will be charged correctly can rest completely easy: A button on the toll box simply changes the number of axles. Important note: Since the truck toll box is programmed for the respective vehicle, it is not possible to change vehicles for this toll box.

Multiple use: The HGV toll box applies here.

  • Italy: The lanes are marked with a yellow "T". The toll box also works on all other lanes.
  • France: Here, all lanes marked with the "T" can be used with the toll box.
  • Spain: Here the toll box can be used on all lanes marked with "Telepeaje", "VIA-T" or a "T".
  • Portugal: Here the payment of the toll is partly only possible with the toll box, whereby all lanes can be used.
  • Austria: Here the toll is collected automatically while driving on the motorway. The driver does not have to stop or slow down.
  • In addition to the motorway toll, special toll routes, such as the Brenner toll, can be paid digitally and without stopping.
  • Belgium: In Belgium, the Liefkenshoektunnel is paid electronically and contactless with the toll box.
  • The toll box is also valid at designated parking areas.
  • The toll box can also be used for ferries on the Strait of Messina.
