Rosenheim, 14 October 2024. The MEGGLE Founder Award was presented again this year. The gala award ceremony was held in the historic town hall in the town of Wasserburg. Over 380 invited guests from business and politics celebrated this special evening together.
Entrepreneur couple Toni and Marina Meggle created the award 12 years ago to honour particularly innovative and courageous young companies. With a two-year forced break due to Corona, this was the tenth award ceremony, which offered prize money totalling €75,000.
First place this year went to maut1 GmbH from Rosenheim. The company, founded by Julian Schmelzer and Simon Baumgartner, rents out electronic toll collection devices. With the help of these toll boxes, holidaymakers and business travellers can pay tolls electronically and contactlessly in various countries such as Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and Croatia. This saves travellers up to 45 minutes per toll station. The prize money for the first prize is 35,000 euros.
The jury was particularly impressed by maut1's rapid growth and strong economic data - with more than 150,000 active customers and a planned turnover of €21 million this year, maut1 is ahead of the competition in this area.
Second place went to ScaliRo GmbH. The founders Patrick Burkart, Florian Köster and Tim Nowak received prize money totalling 25,000 euros. ScaliRo develops a manufacturer-independent software solution for planning automated guided vehicle systems (AGVs) in logistics and production facilities. Due to the strong growth in e-commerce and the resulting increased use of automated logistics solutions, there are great opportunities for growth for the Rosenheim-based company, according to the laudatory speech.
Third place goes to JaViAs GmbH. Jacqueline and Vincent Aßbichler began developing the mechanical protective net "buxit" back in 2018, using the spiked net to prevent the box tree moth from laying eggs without causing any damage to other insects. The independent jury of the Meggle Founder Award honoured the product innovation with 15,000 euros.
The event was attended by prominent guests - presenter Alexander Mazza hosted the evening. Marina Meggle gave a short speech at the beginning. The Bavarian Minister President Markus Söder had prepared a video message in which he spoke of an inspiring prize and said "Who needs the Lion's Den when you have the MEGGLE Founder's Prize?", thus recognising the quality of the field of applicants. In addition, the editor of the daily newspaper "Die Welt" Stefan Aust gave a speech on the challenges of the current times and the mistakes of politics.
